The DLEF was established in 1999 and the objective is to promote education in the field of dental law and ethics in the UK by discussions amongst dentists, lawyers, experts, dental legal professionals, regulators and any other interested parties. The DLEF Committee comprises senior dento-legal advisers from the DDU, MPS and the MDDUS, as well as regulatory solicitors. Those attending DLEF sessions are drawn from all of these areas. The number of attendees varies but on average, there are around 30-40 attendees at each meeting.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, and hopefully again in due course, the meetings are hosted at Hempson’s Solicitors, 100 Wood Street London EC2V 7AN near St. Paul’s in the City of London. We are currently investigating the options for streaming/videoing future meetings. Please check our News section for updates.
There is no VAT payable on the membership fee and it may be tax deductible as a business expense. We suggest that you consult your accountant or financial advisor.
We usually meet from about 6pm with light refreshments and the chance to network, followed by the speaker at 6.30pm for about an hour to an hour and a half with questions. This is again followed by light refreshments and further opportunity to chat and network. The December meeting usually involves a longer post-lecture social time with seasonal offerings.
